IVA expands to include multi-stage-build trucks and special types vehicles and trailers

Posted by: , Posted on: - Categories: Vehicle testing

Factory production line

You will need Individual Vehicle Approval (IVA) for trucks built in multiple stages or special types vehicles and trailers from 29 October 2014. This affects anyone who manufactures, builds and supplies these vehicles in low volumes.

The Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA) provides Small Series Approval for larger production runs. Find out more on the VCA website.

We advise manufacturers, bodybuilders and suppliers considering this approval route to use the optional IVA route ahead of 29 October to gain a better understanding of the requirements, reduce fail rates and benefit from a quicker approval process.
