Individual Vehicle Approval application goes online

Individual Vehicle Approval application form

A new Technical Application Submission (TAS) service that will allow you to apply for an Individual Vehicle Approval (IVA) test online was launched today (17 February 2015).

Working with our customers, the TAS service was developed to speed up the process for applying for an IVA test. TAS allows you to complete an online IVA application form, attach your supporting documents and send it directly to DVSA.

Once your application has been processed and approved, we will send it straight to your testing location, and you will be offered an appointment.

We’ve also made a number of other improvements following your comments about the IVA application process:

You said - “We didn’t provide real-time updates on your application status.”

We’ve improved the way you can track and trace your application

Now, when you submit an IVA application using TAS, we’ll send real time alerts to your email address, keeping you up to date throughout the application process.

You said – “You didn’t want to supply credit/debit card information on your application.”

We’ve improved payment options on all IVA application forms

As a result of your feedback, the way we ask for credit card payments has changed. Now when you apply for an IVA using TAS, we will no longer ask you to provide credit card information on your application form. Instead, we’ll send you an automatic email alert asking you contact us for payment.

Online applications – the future

This is the first step in our online application process and it’s our aim to add more technical tests onto TAS in the future. We will continue to work with our customers as we develop our online services, to ensure we’re making the right improvements.

We value all the feedback we receive and encourage our customers to get in touch with any comments. You can do this by emailing enquiries@vosa.gov.uk
